Power Maxed coming in hot for the BTCC

Power Maxed no-nonsense fully-fledged race team returns to the 2018 British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) with their eyes on the podium!

Arenacross Title Sponsors, Power Maxed; the no-nonsense vehicle care brand have a fully-fledged race team and for 2018 are returning the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) with their eyes on the podium!

Power Maxed have just experienced their very first Arenacross Tour and in 2018 the brand was on the frontline as the prestigious title sponsor. The brand was keen to experience our crazy action-packed tour in as many ways as they could, most notably linking up with Fro Systems. The team enjoyed lots of success with newly crowned AX Champion Cedric Soubeyras, 65cc Champ Sean Mahoney and ‘AX bad boy’ Ashley Greedy, who was not shy about being in the spotlight.

For the AX fans who attended the third stop of the tour at The Genting Arena, Birmingham would have seen the action unfold with the Power Maxed Racing (PMR) Vauxhall in the centre or the arena! With the Power Maxed Arenacross Tour over, the brand has shifted their focus to their hotshot race team and in the depths of winter during the AX rounds, they have been gearing up for a seven-month-long BTC Championship. For those who are unfamiliar, the BTCC has been around since 1958 and attract crowds of around 40,000 with automotive powerhouses such as Ford, Vauxhall, and BMW running teams.

The BTCC is comprised of a 32-strong line up of 350+bhp 2-liter turbocharged direct-injection engines, built to a tight spec – but essentially family cars are made into fully charged beasts. Each track will have different challenges for the drivers and since we live in the UK the weather plays a huge part in the performances.DriversSince 2014, Power Maxed have had BTCC legends pilot their machines such as Emmerdale star Kevin Fletcher and legend Tom Chilton. But for 2018 they have a new duo in the hot seats; 19-year-old Senna Proctor and 24-year-old Josh Cook. Both drivers have raced under the Power Maxed banner but not together. The two drivers have both won the Jack Sears Trophy in their careers with PMR for being the best Rookie so the pair has a strong background! In true AX Style we asked the riders some quick-fire questions to find out what really matters:

The Car

Like any team, the machine is at the centre of it all, no different to Arenacross! This year Power Maxed has enjoyed so new partners and have almost transformed their Vauxhall Astras. For the techie bunch the car is now running ITG Air Filters, Milltek Sport Exhausts, both with Zircotec heat resistant coatings, Extreme14 silicone hoses throughout and much more.

Last year, Arenacross was in the prime spot on the bonnet just in time for the final round at Brands Hatch. This year the car will be sporting a new look and will be revealed at the Media Day on March 27th!
